Dream House

Well, ok, maybe not THE dream house, but what we would like to do to our existing house if we were to stay here for any length of time. This is the first real project that I used Google SketchUp for and will continue to add and implement to this drawing as I learn things. This will explain why all the windows and detailing are incomplete for the moment. My main focus of this was to see how it would look in the "Big Picture" and continue to add as I go.

We have a tiny house, 970 square feet, with a detatched garage. Our kitchen sits
in the corner of the house closest to the garage. It's pretty small with no room
for a table that seats a family of four. So it would make sense to add on
to that corner of the house attaching to the garage, using the
existing service door of the garage as point-of-entry to the kitchen.
Keeping all the plumbing on the east wall (back of the house) where it is,
I would like to create an island there and make room for more
cabinets and windows on the walls.

I would love to add a bay window on the back of the addition, to make a nook for the kids to read their books on a rainy day, looking out to the back yard and gardens. And adding a door to the north side of the addition and a wrap around deck making way to the existing concrete paver patio. Now the yard isn't to scale, it is a bit larger, but a complete 6' tall cedar privacy fence would be nice. Oh well, we can dream right? More to come later...

Render Revamp

This is a revamp of this stage set: Stage Backdrop. I added the curved back walls and had to change the infill panels to a solid color as opposed to plexiglass. As discussed before, I added a logo on the piece. I can alternatively "wrap" logos on the curves, but the client wanted their logo to "POP" out.

Dodge Challenger WAGON?

This one was for my own benefit as I owned a Dodge Magnum, and loved the new Challenger. Throughout automotive history, someone has always tried to make a sports car into a station wagon, which is a concept that I am very fascinated with. So I set out to do it myself, starting with the next picture:

Add the Magnum station wagon roofline and hatch,
clone out driver and traffic through the glass:

Cut out the above car and paste onto a nice and dramatic backplate
that matches somewhat the ambient color temps, shading and highlights.

Manipulate the shadows under the car a little and viola! The final shot. If I ever win the Lottery, I would love to actually build this. It would be a pretty good "grocery getter"!

Stage Backdrop

Here is another hybrid between SketchUp and PhotoShop. I did all the perspectives and made the aluminum frameworks as components in SketchUp. Then created the plexiglass infill panels and relflections in PhotoShop. I can also place company logos on any of the panels via Illustrator if I so choose, which I might post here later on...

Stage Set Rendering cont.

Many times I am asked to come up with something before the final idea comes to the table. This rendering was for the same client as before, but with a "Dancing with the Stars" feel. Same techniques as the previous render, obviously a smaller budget production.

Stage Set Rendering

This rendering was for a client that wanted an "Oprah" vibe to their stage set. Created as a hybrid between Google SketchUp for the perspective, Adobe Illustrator for logos and Adobe PhotoShop for textures and finishes.

Trade Show Rendering

I currently work for a corporate event company that I have been trying to get more business in trade show boothes. This is a rendering of that company's booth for a local trade show. Unfortunately the owner did not take a very good picture of the final product. It is made of aluminum extrusion framing and black celtec panels with printed vinyl graphics on stand-offs for a dimensional look and feel. Also I created a slideshow DVD for the portfolio showing in the 42" LCD tv that is attached.
